Chalk , also known as Bodychalk, is a tattoo artist based in Halifax and the founder of Port City Tattoos. Tattooing since 2006, Chalk built his first machine from a toothbrush a guitar string and simple motor—a reflection of his early ingenuity and relentless creativity.
In 2017, he invented the world’s first Two-Needle Tattoo Machine, a custom device that alternates between a bold and fine needle to create a parallel line effect unique to his work. The result is a striking, one-of-a-kind style—clean, graphic, and often infused with a playful, almost childlike energy that gives each piece a storybook-like charm.
Chalk’s work ranges from novelty-style tattoos to high-skill black and grey, offering both expressive art and technically solid execution. With nearly two decades of experience and a reputation for precision, originality, and innovation, he continues to push the boundaries of modern tattooing.
